Permission is required to take aerial photographs


Please note that it is required  a permission from the National Security Authority (formerly unit of the Armed Forces High Command), to make recordings or aerial photographs from air overhead Norwegian territory. Read about the regulation.


Aerial photography and map control  in Norway
It is required with permission of the NSM (National Securuty Authority) to record and take photoes from the air over Norwegian territory. Exempt from this requirement, are passengers of aircrafts on time-charter or taxi traffic, as well as recordings made in accordance with those of Norway ratified arms control agreements.

Application for admission to do aeril photography.
For individual missions, limited in time and scope, you are granted permission by phone or fax. For people who need permission related to work or acquisition-related missions, it can be applied for and issued a general permit / license, with a duration of up to 5 years. Please note that it is required security clearance of persons who apply for aerial photography license  of areas where there are objects that are considered worthy shielding.
